The collection of your Personal Information is limited to that which is necessary for the purposes identified in this Privacy Policy.

Use and Disclosure of Personal Information

RC Law collects and uses personal information from its clients, prospective clients, employees, prospective employees, agents, service providers and other third parties. We do not use your Personal Information for purposes other than those which have been set out below. RC Law does not sell or trade Personal Information to third parties.

RC Law collects, uses and discloses Personal Information for the following purposes:

  1. to establish and manage client relationships, provide legal advice, perform legal services, fulfill legal duties, and avoid conflicts of interest;

  2. to share Personal Information to and from third parties for the purpose of providing legal services;

  3. to consider whether RC Law should establish a commercial relationship with clients, prospective clients, suppliers, prospective suppliers, employees, prospective employees and other third parties, including to evaluate credit standing and to match credit bureau or credit reporting agency information;

  6. to understand and respond to client, supplier and other third party needs and preferences, including to contact and communicate with such parties and to conduct research and evaluations;

  7. to develop, enhance, market, sell or otherwise provide RC Law’s products and services;

  8. to market, sell or otherwise provide products and services of third parties with whom RC Law has a commercial relationship;

  9. to distribute newsletters and other informational e-mail communications, conference information and other material to individuals on our mail and e-mail lists, including by third party mailing houses and e-mail service providers;

  10. to detect and protect RC Law and other third parties against error, negligence, breach of contract, fraud, theft and other illegal activity, and to audit compliance with RC Law’s internal policies and contractual obligations and ;

  11. to engage in business transactions, including the purchase, sale, lease, merger, amalgamation or any other type of acquisition, disposal, securitization or financing involving RC Law;

  12. as permitted by, and to comply with, any legal or regulatory requirements or provisions; and

  13. To process or comply with insurers and regulatory agencies requests relating to the practice of law.

Safeguards

RC Law uses appropriate safeguards to protect the privacy of Personal Information. These safeguards are designed to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification. Your records are accessible only to staff who have been given the authority to access them and only as is necessary to provide services and products or otherwise deal with you.

RC Law strives to provide a secure online environment for the transmission of Personal Information such as credit card details, usernames and passwords.

Transmissions over the Internet cannot be guaranteed to be completely secure. RC Law, its affiliates subsidiaries, any principals, partners, shareholders, employees, agents, contractors or subcontractors do not represent, warrant or guarantee that Personal Information will be protected against misuse, loss or modification, nor do such parties accept liability for the security of a user’s Personal Information submitted by e-mail or through with the Website.

Web Log Information and Cookies

RC Law logs certain technical information from your computer’s web browser when you visit us on the Internet. This information includes your Internet address, the address of the Website you are coming from, the amount of time you spend visiting our Website, the pages visited, the operating system and web browser software you use, and, if you link to us through a search engine, the keywords you use to find our Website. The logs do not record Personal Information, can be accessed only by RC Law, and are used solely to track visits to our site and improve its content and layout. RC Law never attempts to tie this information to particular individuals visiting our Website unless necessary for investigating a security breach.

When you visit our Website, you are assigned a temporary text file called a cookie through your web browser. It is placed on your computer for programming purposes only and enhances your use of the Website by providing a unique identifier as you move from page to page. If you use the search engine, it remembers the keywords you enter.
